A road sign in Venice which has been modified by a Venetian language activist. Venetian road signs were rewritten following the conventions of standard Italian. Speakers of Venetian were not happy with the new signs so decided to take matters into their own hands and change them back. In this example, one of the rs in the double 'rr' of standard Italian is crossed out, an interesting example of anti-standardisation in public signage.
