In an interview arranged for the Namibian feminist magazine 'Sister Namibia', we worked with Diǁxao Kx'ao, an 18 year old Juǀ'hoan woman who strongly believed that the Juǀ'hoan tradition of ǃKoma ts'aa, 'marriage of understanding', helps and protects young men and young women when they get married. She argues that young girls should seek the help of their parents and return to Juǀ'hoan traditions, as alcoholism, unemployment, desparity and poverty sees a growth in single parents. Culture, Diǁxao argues, can help young vulnerable women.
